Paul Smith menswear SS11

The Paul Smith Spring-Summer 2011 collection for menswear is a great example of mix between elegance and vintage rock style, inspired by the 60’s and 70’s rock era. Take a look at collection and what we think about it by reading more..

The use of  soft lined blazers, oversized and colorful shirts together with slim fit or relax shaped pants gives a contemporary view of the 70’s rock look idea.

The dark color palette used by the stylist, like the grey in different tones, the magenta, the dark purple, the silvery tones and the use of a pale version of the common floral pattern that reminds me of the hippie look, and it’s truly incredible.

Certainly I have to point out the intentional contrast between the skinny and the oversized  visible in each model of the runway, the contrast is constant throughout this collection.



In conclusion Paul Smith made a fantastic collection, maybe one of my favorites of Paul Smith, the work on the colors, the patterns and the shapes is unbelievable and the rock element is the strength of his clothes.
